Den Haag Direct

Research & Design

Den Haag Direct was an half-year project during my study ‘Human Technology’ at The Hague University. The goal of the project was to come up with a concept for a new way of communication between the city counsel of The Hague and it’s residents. At that time the city counsel was planning to knock-down a few old residential areas in order to create space for new appartements and recreational facilities. In this project we created ‘De Kijkdoos’. The intention of this concept was to create a mobile ‘narrowcasting’ platform which could be placed in the vicinity of malls, recreational area’s or points-of-interests in the public space. The advantage being that the content of the platform would change according to its location. So when it’s placed in the city centre, it only gives information about the planned changes for that specific area.
